The South Essex District Cricket Board organises competitions for its clubs at Under 11, 13 and 15 age groups as well as the preliminary rounds of the National Under 13 and 15 competitions in the guise of the Bradford and Peters Cups respectively. The season generally runs from the end of April until the end of August, with play-off finals at each age group.

The 2010 season concluded with congratulations to the following trophy winners:

Under 11 – RAYLEIGH (runners up Orsett)
Under 11B – SOSEMT “B” (runners up Rayleigh “B”)
Under 13 – HADLEIGH & THUNDERSLEY (runners up Orsett)
Under 13B – WICKFORD “B” (runners up Horndon-on-the-Hill “B”)
Under 15 – HADLEIGH & THUNDERSLEY (runners up Wickford)

During the winter, trials are being held for the District representative squads at Under 11,13 and 15 age levels. The squads for Under 11 and Under 13 age groups have been finalised and can be found by clicking here. The trials for the Under 15 age group are ongoing and the squad will be finalised after the final trial on Feb 17th. 

The annual meeting has been arranged for Wednesday Feb 16th at Benfleet CC, starting at 8.00 pm to allow all clubs to have some input to the organisation and competition rules for the 2011 season. All clubs have been requested to submit details of the sides that they wish to enter by Feb 5th. In the meantime, any new clubs interested in entering our youth competitions should contact the Youth District Organiser, John Wade.
