Coaching

The South Essex District Cricket Board is pleased to announce that its youth coaching programme will again be staged at The Grays School Media Arts College. The ten week courses will commence on Sunday 10th January 2010 and continue each week thereafter up to and including Sunday 28th March 2010, with the exception of 14th and 21st February due to half-term holidays.

There are three courses each Sunday. At 2pm we are coaching players of school years 7-9 inclusive, at 3pm more older players, ideally school years 10-12, and at 4pm we concentrate on core skills training for younger and inexperienced players, sometimes referred to as "Basic skills" though the course tests our coaches as much as the juniors as we teach fundamental techniques that will hold a player in good stead for the rest of his or her playing career. This course should be attended by beginners before attending our other courses that are primarily net based.

Our courses are open equally to girls.

For safety reasons, the number of entrants will be limited and therefore places will be accepted on a "first come first served" basis. The booking form, available below, contains more information about the courses.

Further information about the courses, where available, will be displayed below.

The booking form will be available for download from this page soon.
