SOUTH
ESSEX
DISTRICT
South Essex District Cricket Board (SEDCB) was formed in 1999 after the Essex County Cricket Board decided to reform the structure of Recreational cricket within the County. Previously the district was served by Thurrock & District Cricket Association and South Essex Cricket Association. These bodies were effectively merged into one. The objectives of SEDCB are to promote and encourage cricket at all levels in their respective area. This includes the organisation of competitions and training courses which can range from Coaching to Umpires and Scorers. The Board is ran by a Management Committee all working voluntarily on behalf of its member clubs. This provides a link between the clubs and the County club and can involve any matter ranging from advising of available funding streams to seeking professional advice on the state of grounds and facilities. Some clubs have private grounds where as others use Council owned facilities. The needs of these clubs will vary considerably. I hope you will find our web site worth a visit and would of course like to hear from you as to any comments regarding what you would like to see and how we can improve the layout or content. I would finish by thanking you for reading this brief introduction enjoys the game of cricket whether by watching or participating. Paul Brice |
