Hadleigh and Thundersley are Essex Indoor Runners-Up

Hadleigh and Thundersley reached the Final tie of the County’s Indoor Six-a-side competition at the Ashwell Graham Gooch Indoor Cricket Centre, only to be defeated by Five and Heronians CC in a high scoring encounter.  Fives powered their way to 134-3 and in reply, Hadleigh were all out for 94, with Michael Tibbenham top scoring with 32.  Adam Fleming contributed 26 but the fielding from Five and Heronians was exceptional; they were rewarded with three run-out dismissals, for whom Norris scored a fine half-century with 52 not out, Jackson hit 27 not out and Bhome finished undefeated on 23.  Kay was Five’s most successful bowler returning 2-14 from 2.4 overs.

In their first game after defeating Stanford in the play-off final, Hadleigh gained a walk-over against Harlow in their first County finals fixture, then tasted victory over Little Baddow at the Essex semi-final stage.  Hadleigh and Thundersley powered their way to 135-1 then dismissed Little Baddow for 52 in just 7.2 overs.  In a dominant display of batting, Michael Tibbenham and Joe Robbins both scored 25 not out, Paul Tibbenham hit 26 not out and Adam Fleming scored 20 not out.  After the short break between innings, Robbins completed a fine all-round performance by capturing two wickets for just seven runs from 1.5 overs.
